From Trouble by Gary D. Schmidt
"'Get away,' he said again. 'Black dog, get away.'
...
First, Black Dog had a home and a name.
Second, the telephone rang. It was the hospital."
I'm currently reading Trouble (which I will post a review of sometime soon) and Tales from the Secret Annex which is some of Anne Frank's essays and stories. I picked it up from the Anne Frank Museum.

Ooh! I really hope you're liking Trouble. Can't wait for your review :)
btw, I'm reading The Host right now...so far I'm loving it.
Trouble is so on my reading list!! I can't wait to read it!
Erin: Yay! so glad you are reading it. I LOVED the Host (I actually liked it better than the Twilight series--much less stressful drama! And no random vampire sound effects--ie growling, chuckling...etc.)
Traci: You must read it! Although I'm only at the very beginning, I'm enjoying the author's style and tone and the story's got me hooked already!
Ooh, I just got Trouble from the library and am really excited to read it. Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy was wonderful.
